Quick question.

I have no idea how long it takes to build muscle but I do know its a while.

So, for a guy with little muscle and following a bulk body building plan, how long would it take to get upto this stage?

Id like to get into body building so that isnt really 'big' in terms of BB i guess but its a good goal to have I feel.

So my question really is - how long does/would it take to grow that much and put on that much muscle?
a year? two?

it really depends on genetics, if you go the natural path I'd aim for around 2 years with good training and proper diet.

it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to build a good shape, yes you can make huge gains but thats with steroids etc and quite a lot of the gains are water and fat hence why a lot of competitive bodybuilders have to diet and lose between 2-3stone to compete.
Try the natural way for a year and see how you shape up and remember its not about ego trips lifting a weight too heavy to do the correct movement, you need to use a weight that enables you to perform the exercise correctly with proper form.

Yeah, thanks for that

I train at my house so its a lot better to chose the right weight than one to heavy like you said.

SPG - It sound's like i'm telling you to get on with it buti aint. honestly, You will find out yourself. You learn a lot to how your body works. You will be able to tell how big you will get after a couple of months.

Like Wingy said stay natural and eat sensible and train hard. Then decide if you want to take performance enhancers from there.

Good luck mate
