Whats the general opinion about Bench Presses on a Rack Machine, is this a good technique or is a Free Barbell much better, i've heard alot of contradicting arguements, Just wanted to get a proffsiona opinion before i splash out on one.

Free weights and machines both have a part to play. I have usually prefered free weights in the past. But since my injury I do have to rely on machines far more and my physique is certainly no worse for it.
So long as you train hard, train smart and ensure you go to the max it probably doesn't make that much difference.
I think the word is free wights are best but for some one like myself who trains alone I am better with the smith as I can go heavy and try for that one more rep witch when I use free wights I caint for safty reson so for me its best to use the smith. but if you have a good spotter then free is best
