Dont bother with fancy stuff at the beginning mate, just an all round mass gainer, CNP's pro mass is good and make sure you get a good amount of protein in, say every 3 hours along with good carbs and fats and you wont go far wrong....... oh and train HARD!!!!!!!!!!!

stick to a good diet mate (plenty of them on this site) and go hard on yourself in the gym.How old are you and what do you weigh?
are you skinny, medium  or  large build? how tall are you?
The advice given by mens health is a load of bollox,i was thinking about m1t at one point but after a bit of research found out that theyre worse than some steroids (for side affects),and to suggest these to a complete beginner   they need shooting.
no problem with myprotein but if you can stretch that little bit further try get the isolate instead of the blend.
As for strength make sure your doing all your compound movements, bench press-squats-dead lifts, these will increse your core strength. Also make sure you get plenty of rest (this is when you grow) so dont be hitting the gym 7 days a week, have a look in the training section and check out bigkeikos beginners routine.
stick around mate because everything you need to know is right here, and questions are just as important as anwsers to keep a board moving
hope this helps mate and welcome to the forum.
