Jo, I'd be interested in knowing if you "Worked out until failure" and what effect it had on you the next day. As I said before it kills me. Particularly when I try to do say 20-30 minutes of cardio the next day. I find that I've just not got the energy. And thats when the day before Ive been thrashing the biceps curls etc. I take creatine and whey isolate daily in recommended doses, as well as one Grenade. |

Hi Jon,
Its a relatively new programme that i am following only been doing it for three weeks. The first week or so i was doing my training with a trainer who set the weight as to what he thought was my heaviest. But would on some exercises get me to do an extra set or the next weight up. The next day or in some cases the next two or three days i would ache like hell. and sometimes too sore to even do cardio. When i do the training on my own, im not getting the same effect.....!!!! I use L-Glutamine and whey.
Not sure if this has answered your question.
But i do know that i have gym tonite, and im going to lift hard, and until i cant lift for that set anymore. !! I want to feel the burn !!!

Look forward to seeing your report tomorrow Jo! Tell us if you did get to "failure point" and how you feel after that. Do you go to gym every day? I'm retired so I've been going daily since Nov 15, for 60 - 90 minutes a day. The guys here told me that was too much so I've reduced it to 6 days a week. But I still do cardio on rest days, {if I can } That bicep in your avatar has much better shape and form than mine! |

You will get moaned at if you train too much. Wish there was a smilie with a waggin finger..... I know what you mean though, i would happily work out 7 days a week. Normally do 5 days a week with the weekend off its convinient that way. Quite good because there is a gym where i work , so im off to do cardio shortly then will do weights tonite. Will work my butt off tonite and let you know how it goes, will post tomorrow. have a good day. |

Ho ho ho.... well said Jo! I'm prepared just to stare at that beautiful bicep of yours and fantacise. Today I had fantastic 2 hour workout, up to failure point with chest press, tri dips and leg press; not to mention 40 minutes cardio on treadmill at 6.2 kph. I'll let you know tomorrow, Jo, how I feel then; I'll be doing biceps curls, cardio and triceps again. {I think!!!!} |

Thanx Jon. Two hours seems an aufully long time to train. Might want to make your weights heavier and lift for a shorter period of time if you can. About five years ago i was quite obsessed with the gym and if i wasnt in there for two hours a day i wondered what the hell i was playing at. Thats all changed now, i try never to be training for more than an hour. I know its personal preference but with that much cardio as well i would be dead on my feet. Hope u have a good workout though. Try and consider what you get for working that long. Meant in the nicest possible way. |

Well today was pretty good all round. Meal 1: x5 egg whites x1 bowl oats Meal 2: Rice and Turkey Meal 3: Rice and Turkey Meal 4: Rice and Turkey Meal 5 : Post workout x2 scoops whey and x1 green apple Meal 6: Fish and broccoli Tried some cardio today but was still a bit painful. But managed around 35/40 mins pretty moderate though. Training - Legs x3 sets for all of them, db seated squats (reps) 25,15,10 leg press 10,8,6 leg ext with pulses,10,8,6, step ups with squats 10,8,6 lunges, 10,8,6,with weight calf raises, with a weight on the side raising x5 sets. different angles. Was really good went into it with the thinking, if i need to do 10 reps will push with all i have to do 12. And i kept that thinking through my whole workout. The only one i couldnt do all the reps was the seated squats as i did lunges first. But i felt as if i had had a really good workout. Going to apply that way of thinking everytime i go to the gym. As for today - Mission Accomplished Oh and i agreed to do a 5k run in july....!!!!!! |

2 hours IS too long. to spend2 hours in the gym mean your either not training hard enough, checking out the chicks, talking to evry man and his dog there for becoming the most unpopula person in the gym or looking at your self in the mirror.
i know this because ive dont them all at some point. lol
5k run in july??? y in july? do one tomorow b4 work. its only just over 3 miles. you should sprint that! |
