Hi gentlemen and ladies,
Ive used the SEARCH facility but cannot find anything on the following "mix".

I take whey isolate and creatine. But I take them seperately at different times of the day.  Is it OK if I mix them in the same drink? e.g. with the creatine just before and just after the gym? I take the whey before the gym and before I go to bed.
I take 5ogms of whey 2 times a day and 5gms of creatine 2 times also
.

I'm on a loading phase of creatine monohydrate at the moment, so I'm taking it 4 times a day for the first 5 days, then I will take it twice a day thereafter.

This is what I've been advised:
Have your first lot of creatine in the morning first thing.
Take your second lot straight after your workout: 15min later have your whey:
There are whey protein products on the market that contain creatine too, so it looks like they can be mixed ok. I prefer to keep them seperate, as I only like to use creatine for 4-6 weeks before having a 4-6 week break from it.
I also like a protein shake prior to going into the gym because Ive read it speeds up protein synthesis.....

Jon - you can use both together without cancelling the effects of either. Creatine is naturally occuring in meat - so when you eat meat you are also consuming creatine - just not in such high amounts as you cvan supplement with.

Thanks again PJ. and djandy1uk , I'm taking this very seriously now.  Dropped from 18 and a half stone to 15 stone in 12 months and Im only 5 feet 7. Getting rid of the fat and now building muscle. Put on the weight originally due to an emotional shock which at 69 I should have been used to

Here is a very interesting discussion on creatine and its effects on athletes.

http://www.abc.net.au/rn/talks/bbing/stories/s98916.htm

I found it particularly of inter4est as I am prone to kidney stones.  I used to drink a litre of milk each day, but cut it out on doctors advice after getting kidney stones on three separate occasions.  The last time I had to be hospitalised to get it removed. Not very nice!!!!
