had a bit more time on me hands before work the other day so decided to cook my oats and add protein powder (insted of oats and protein in blender).Wanting to know if warming protein can effect its values in any way?

Not sure on this one, tho'  imo I would cook the oats then mix protein with a little milk then add it to the oats.

Hi Gaz,

In order to provide quality protein powders - most are "cold processed" basically this means that the proteins are kept cool while the best fractions (parts) are separated. Hence cooking with a cold processed protein can denature (damage) the protein and hence it will lose some of its anabolic muscle building effects. I suggest cooking your oats in water - then add your protein powder once they have been cooked and left to cool a little.

thanks people,wont be warming them again.
Anyway found out that weetabix are as clean as oats so ive been making shake with water and pouring it over 5 weetabix,makes a nice change to shakes. note that my protein powder is chocolate flavourd.

if the protein warm/heated makes it decrease in what it does, does that mean having it alot colder makes it more effective?

no, it just means cooking will damage its quality
