If you don't think you'll pass, you won't. Negative breeds negative. You have done so much positive in your training and lifestyle changes, etc, apply the same enthusiasm to the rest of your life and you can do WHAT YOU WANT.
Go be Jack Reagan or Dirty Harry.........its what you want isn't it?
PMA my friend.

Tank, try different Police Forces. They have different policies for recruits. My sons mate went for the Met and was immediately accepted. After 2 years he then transferred to Durham Constabulary where he wasnted to go in the first place. |

told ya BRITISH ARMY!! you cany join up as any thing from nurse to dog trainer. but once your in train as a physical training instructor. you will build up such a portfolio of qualifacation in things such as rock climbing, sailing, sking, kyacking, scuba diving as well as all your basic 'gym' stuff. you aint got to be super fit thats what the trainings for just got to have balls, the will to learn, aprecation for fellow man, be able to take an order without having a chip on your sholder and be able to drink a shead load of beer and shag the worlds dirtyest and some times uglyest women!! lol sorry gitting a bit emotional here i' i want back in'!! i hate to ever recomend this to any one as i fooking hate them but you could even become a member of the royal military police call sign 'c**ts' lol nearly every RMP that leaves the army after 3 years gets fast tracked in the real police. |

The attendants and instructors in my small gym (Barnard Castle, Co. Durham) have all done degree courses at Uni in Leisure Studies. Problem is Tank, you'd be competing with these kids who are paid less than mature adults. My son has same peoblem in the Computer Industry. He's 43 and an absolute whizz-kid at computers but no qualifications in that field, but cannot get a good job because of the younger, cheaper, better qualified competition. |

I know..thats one thing im regretting.. 24 and thinking of change due to work probs..not good because i wanted to be set in my career by now..because every one/most ^^ have done collage/uni.. etc etc..
I have engineering qulifications but what i do,isnt real engineering and i wouldnt do that if i wasnt working in the medical side.. so that sucks knowing id have to another few years of collage etc to start in a fresh field.
Ive got things i do on the side like desining my own gym gear and stuff but it wont make me a career in the long run.its just small change on the side.. |

TANK, have a look at your local college prospectus. I've been told that Gym Instructor Stage 3 is the minimum gyms look for. An instructor in my gym was 58 years old when he did that course. H'es now on full time employment sine December. |

PMA, Positive mental attitude.
I know you already have that in spades. And you've had some great advice here. It aint easy out there and to get what you want out of life is not always possible. But as long as you know you have tried your best you can't knock yourself.
Whatever you decide I'm sure you'll give it your best shot.
