With massive advances in technology in the last few decades and medical knowledge Bodybuilders of today are far bigger far more cut than say Big Arnie (who would not even place today in his top condition of yesteryear) Seeing pics of Ronnie Coleman next to Alvin Small (who many would consider Big) he looked (excuse the pun ) small. Ronnie weighed in at 297 lbs in one of the contests a ripped 297, a genetic freak people are calling him.
Well with all the advances in medicine and knowledge bodybuilding has now (for some) gone far beyond steroids (and to small extent overcome genetic shortfalls) and using GH, ILGF and Inject able peptides ect, where gains are said to be more permanent.
Where will all this go ??, how massive can a person get and what is the future of the sport??? There is great contradiction with the officials running the sport but where will it all end or will bodybuilders carry on getting bigger and bigger until they can not move correctly or function properly.
to be honest i think there is only a certain amount of tissue your frame can hold before looking to bloated and ugly, it would be nice to see the tiny waists come back, Dennis Wolf is my favourite at the mo as his shoulder to waist ratio is awesome
im not a big fan of the whole steriod movement in bodybuilding. there will be alot of people that disagree with me on this, but theres something about natural bodybuilding that seems more real, more human, i look at people like ronnie coleman, and yes, hes strikes one impressive feckin figure. but he looks inhuman almost. what ever happened to human endevour? i know before anyone says anything...that steriods arent a shortcut. you still have to work hard(sometimes even harder then most) and you still have to train your bollocks off. but why cant people do that naturally and see where there body, mind, and motivation will get them.
i think people do, and i think once they do they are still not happy with what they see,yes some people try to use steroids as a shortcut but they are not the ones at the top of the game,if you look at ronnie coleman for instance i believe if he was a natural bodybuilder he would still be at the top due to his hard work and genetics alone. some people use steroids dare i say for the right reasons, others through lack of patients and laziness.

Simple because we dont want to be natural, we want to be supernatural!!!!

Why cant athletes in any sport do that? Point is drugs in sport have always been around and always will be - even in the days of Athens men would eat sheep testicles to ingest testosterone....
Educate the public so bodybuilding gets the respect it deserves - we are ATHLETES!

I agree with that statement but my point was how far can it go with modern technology and medicine, how big can builders get before looking totally stupid?? Do forum members think the sport has advanced as far as it can go and has the sport been manipulated by judges to attain a more cut physique??? With the intention of reaping in more money from the multi billion dollar bodybuilding supplement companies who have a large influence???

Many do train naturally and do achieve very good results, however when you see what steroids do to others and when your mindset and dedication is to get big then they are a Option that will advance you beyond the natural training curve. There is also the mental affect which can be very powerful. My first injection of long acting esters had such a mental affect that in the gym the next week me and partner where pushing more weight then ever before, that is before they took affect the mental side of knowing they will work has great affects on training, mindset and diet discipline. I could almost guarantee that if I gave a shot of vit c to a builder and told him it was Dianabol or something he would lift heavier and train harder.
the last gym i used to go to.. geez..80% of the people there were huge..ripped..but.. the same % was also on the juice.. And it was disheartning knowing doesnt matter how much i train..id never reach there level..or if i did..would take me a frigin long time. And i acutally joined them.. i did buy D-Bol.. Didnt take it in the end but still.. its now sitting in my cuboard
With medicine and techolgy.. i think were still not near the biggest bodybuilder we will see with regards to the likes of ronnie.. Were still advancing every month.. So i think over the comming years we will see some new people that might/should be bigger then ronnie. Which would look so wrong..
There is a new "classic bodybuilding contest" which is building steam with popularitity.. I think there might be a split soon..some wanting to go for the biggest..and some happy enough to stay with the awsome look of arnie.
Arnie for me is still the legend with perfection..still he used steroids too so hehe. So what will happen will be intersting..
How ever.. i think and hope Bodybuilding should be taken more serious.. id love to see Bodybuilders taken as professional athletis and get to see shows on TV and auctally get sponsored by other company's rather then supplements. Then if it was more serious.
