hi new 2 the  forum

wanted 2 ask about the postwork out drink which im mainly concerned about, will post my diet and routine soon, until 2 day i have not taken anything with regards 2 supplements or any drinks, strated 2day with a bottle of pro recovery CNP it has the following:

Di and tripetides for rapid dilivery, high in BCAAS, High in glycemic carbs, Antioxidants

i have read post about post workout drink, i understand that BSN is also good and is good because it can b used other times in the day not like CNP recovery which is used only for post workouts, but i was concerened that does BSN have what pro recovery CNP has, I know BSN has good protien the essential 8 amino acids but does it have high glycemic carbs or would i have to add the glucose and sucrose from another source and how about the Antioxidants?

Many thankz

I use a good quality blended protein, 60gm, and 80gm maltodextrin mixed in water. Its light
on the stomach and gives me what I need. The CNP products are very good, top of the range
infact, but expensive.

BSN firstly is the brand name.. so they have many products

All here will agree..BSN does what it says on the tin..

So.. You want a post workout? Then first you need a protein..then you either look at creatine or a carb drink.. carb isnt that nessacary if you get ur carb food in within the hour of working out..

So go for protein and look at cell mass ( creatine ). Pro Recovery from CNP is a awsome carb drink for after the gym

If you are thinking of getting a BSN protein supplement - that would be Syntha6 :-

http://www.supplements.british-bodybuilding.co.uk/protein/bsn-syntha-6.html

You can use this as a meal replacement at any time of the day. It is not high in sugar - so if you wanted to use it Post Workout also you could just add glucose powder to it.

EASY

2 get this right b4 i use my hard earned money and purchase from this website BSN Syntha6 can b used as a meal replacement and as a protien shake for snacks (mid morning) i can also use it as a post workout as u have said so where would i get the glucose from can u give a link 2 this and is sucrose not essential 2 add in? but woulsd u say that if i brought Pro Recovery 4 and just used it 4 post workout and used BSN thoughout the day would that b okay or would i just b wasting money?

Sucrose is used as a sweetener - so you wouldnt need that. Glucose/dextrose powder you can but from boots or most supermarkets.

Would you be better off using pro recover for post workout and synth6 at other times - either way the cost will be very simular as you would have to buy 2 different products in one option or the other where you used only one - but you would use more of it and hence use it faster - so there really is not much difference. Glucose powder is cheap and therefore u can make a PWO shake cheap using it - but pro recover is also very good.

The choice is yours! lol

Sorry my friend but I beg to differ. Your body is most receptive to nutrients post workout and
you will be glycogen depleted after an intense session. Your body will be craving both carbs
and protein. Why do you think CNP's Pro Recover has more carbs than protein? Why do you
think  BSN's  Syntha 6 contains carbs, because both manufacturers recognise the fact both are essential post workout.

personally i add 30-40 gms of skimmed milk powder to my usual protein drink
boosts the carbs and adds a little more protein.
