I am really confused right now and I think I have been kidding myself. I love training and eating but ive been jumping from one routine to the next. I have several goals but the main ones are to bench 100kg (with good form) and to be at 12 plus stone with a decent bodyfat % of around 15% although i will worry about that later. im currently 11 stone and 6ft2 i bench 60kg with good form but this hasnt changed in over a year. I have heard a lot of people say that power lifting is a good base, and it really interests me. Does any one know a good routine. i am currently doing deadlifts, squats and bench press, i train 4 days a week as heavy as i can just dont no what im doing ie how many reps and sets as every one has a different view. ive heard of people getting good gains from simple 2 day routines but i dont see how this is possible. I know im not being lazy as my muscle generally ache the next day. so basically i need a plan and to stick to it so any pointers would be good.

Powerlifting training - with the goal of lifting as much weight as possible is TOTALLY different from bodybuilding training. With the latter you dont really stimulate much muscle growth and your muscles will be left relatively fresh - whereas with bodybuilding training you are totally trashing your muscles and are no concerend with just moving a weight from point A to B in the most efficient way. For muscle size with good strenght stick to bodybuilding training but with a mainstray of freeweight exercises performed to failure with a weight you can handle in good form for 6 - 8 reps.....

ok cool i didnt realise that, i love the feeling of totally exhausting my muscle's i normally push myself to the point of gagging each workout just want to get my bench upto that magc number. now i know i shouldnt be concerned with that but i am :) do you think it might be worth dropping the number of sets i do.

what i have noticed is that your body gets used to the excersizes that you do ,and how you do them :eg if you go to gym and bench 40k for ten reps and do 5 sets  every work out why should your body change ,when it doesnt need to ,try somthing different , it may be dumbells ,amount of sets,
reps ,it could be dropsets ,forced reps , heavy negatives ,it could be that you need to take a week off and the try somthing else , try changing your routine say every six to eight weeks ,...
if your body gets used to it why would it change ? it wont ,it will stay the same and so will your lifts,keep us informed.
