My intention is to do the Welsh as a qualifier and , providing I do qualify! the British 2007.
I also like to compete in the WPF, they do look after the athletes and also pay expenses etc if you go abroad with them, so I will do the Welsh for them also and hopefully qualify for the Universe in November.
So thats four shows planned, with luck of course!

Reaper - you have some good quality muscle there my friend! Proportions look good too - as far as i can see the main thing you need to improve on, much like my self, is conditioning and muscle separation. Any more shots you can post mate?

I have one or two on disc but they are from the same show. I do have some photo's where I have the condition nailed but will have to scan them, not sure how good they will come out though.
I'll give it a bash and see over the weekend.
I agree, I was off on that shot, I have good proportion, not really a mass monster though. Competed at around 240-245 average at 6'3". Hope to be around the 255 mark next year. I have generally won my shows by having the overall package, symmetry, condition and good presentaion. Like I said, never the biggest guy up there but you don't always have to be.
Thanks very much for the positive comments, appreciated.

Reaper,
You look great in that pic!
I respect the older guys more becouse they have to work harder than the younger ones.
If im still training at your age i'll be a happy man.
Im sure next year you will nail it buddy, well done! 8)

Thats good of you to say, thank you.
I will never stop training, I couldn't, it is so much a part of me that it would be like losing a limb. I know it there are limits, and you have to know when to stop competing, but I have more to come and I truly believe I can beat the best I have ever been thus far.
Age is a state of mind, and my state of mind when in the gym is that of an iron warrior, that is what a true bodybuilder is. PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) is what it is all about. If you have that then defeat is not an option.

Age is a state of the mind, if only my joints felt the same way :'(

You have a great structure and at your height you've filled out your frame nicely.
I'm like you, I cant do 12 weeks of dieting and then only do 1 show. Gotta do at least 4 or 5 to make it all seem worth while; the mrs may have other ideas tho.
Best of luck with your prep this year, I'm sure you will do very well.

Cheers my friend,
You look something of a monster yourself !!
being so tall I find it real hard to keep full ! I do keep in reasonable condition all year as I eat, from habit, quite well. A typical lanky f..ker I do find it hard to add weight. Even at my advanced years my metabolic rate is high, great when dieting, not so great when trying to get bigger!
Really not sure what I am doing re comp's yet. My tricep is still damaged, thougb I can do pec deck for my chest, so I nail it and do quite a few sets, triple drops etc, and I can do light, hi rep laterals for shoulders. Back isn't a problem as it is pulling, its pushing I have a problem with. Legs I destroy, but thats because myself and my partner are sick and enjoy the pain!!!
I'll decide in the next two weeks if I am to enter this year.

Mesomorph,
Just seen a couple of pics of you, very impressive, heavily muscled and proportionate physique you have.
What shows you doing this year?

Well, the 10lb extra weight I was hoping to carry isn't going to happen ! But I am coming down well and I am confident I will be in shape for the Wales in September. Hope to be around 240 lb on stage.
I think I have improved on a few areas, but my left Tricep is going to look a little damaged, as the muscle was most certainly torn, I can see the dip between the elbow and the tri now. Bloody hospital told me there was NO muscle damage, liars !!!!
Its not bad, but if you look, you will see the tear.
Getting to the finals and placing well is still my motivation, and it WILL happen

Hi Reaper,
Was going for the Birmingham qualifier but decided as condition is coming in nicely to do the Leicester show in 3.5 weeks time. Was going to do the Gravesend show in 2.5 weeks but that has now had to be cancelled due to a certain promoter deciding not to promote.
Then the plan is to do the LHW at the British finals on Oct 14th.
From there I'll see what happens.
Good luck at the Welsh BTW

I'll be on stage in September the 9th, first time for four years !!
Must confess to looking forward to it.
Being honest I look to be around 90% for this one, and I hope this is enough to get me through to the British Finals in Nottingham.
I should have taken a little longer to get ready, a week or two perhaps. Still sharpe, but not shredded.
I'll post some pics from the show and you can judge for yourselves if you think I have improved since my last outing. I think I have, chest slightly fuller and back is wider and thicker. Downside is my right arm is down a little due to the tricep tear, not that its too noticable but I KNOW its there !!

The last 10 days have seen a dramatic effect on my body, I am now in pretty hard condition. Better than I anticipated two weeks ago ! I'll be between 90 and 95%. I still have a little excess on my lower back and my glutes aren't shredded, but not very far away at all. so pleased I am !
Zero carbs from last monday up to and including today, start carbing up tomorrow. Now THAT I am looking forward to, who would have thought rice and a few raisens and some banana would be so bloody appealing !!

Well I placed third at the Welsh, it was a tie for second, not sure how the scoring was then re calculated but third was the result. Disappointed, yes, a little. But I did get my invite to the British, and it will be a different me on the stage at the Britain. I wasn't in the condition I needed to be in, around 85 to 90%.
I have 5 weeks to get shredded, and I will.
No motivation like being beat, it won't happen at the Brits.
