Bodybuilding Forum / General Discussion / Perfect physique but want to gain some weight?
Posted by: pipsta, June 25, 2007, 2:54pm
Hello to all, my first post in search of advice from the masters.
A quick question ask from you.
I need help to gain weight/ change my body shape?
Situation.....
25 years old
5' 7" 9 stone 3lb
I have been told i have the perfect physique, not blowing ones own trumpet, I see bruce lee when i look into the mirror!!
Iam as strong as people twice my size, my forearms are like popeye!
Its all very nice, im young, strong and "chiseled"!, trouble is i look skinny because of it!
I have virtually 0% body fat
Where i need help....
What i would like to know is... What is the best way to gain mass, bulk?
I occasionally train, but to be honest muscle just seems to grow on me with out no effort. My question is, to gain weight shall i simply eat more? or start lifting heavy weights? Im being put off by the later because surely I will burn more calories, therefore making me loose weight?
I struggle to gain weight, i could easily eat ten big mac's with no weight gain!
Am i a victim of my own muscle density burning off all these calories ?
Please help guys/girls?

Boy how lucky are you !!
To gain you need to take in more calories than you are burning off, its that simple.
You need to keep your protein quite high if its muscle you are after, I would look at around 1.5gm per pound of body weight at least per day.
If you are as lean as you say and already strong I wouldnt really bother counting carbs at the moment. If you start to gain a little "excess" Then cut your carbs back a little.
If you need more specifics then post a pic, let everyone see what you look like now, and also give your stats and an exact diet can be posted to suit you.

You are completely contradicting yourself my friend. In one sentence you say you seldom train but you pack on muscle really easily and in the next breath you say you find it hard to put on weight??!! :-/
If you find it that easy to put on muscle perhaps its you we should be asking advice from? ;)
So which is it? easy or hardgainer? :B
