i went to this,it was a good show, although it was very close,i thought paul jenkins had the edge over pat warner in the over 90s in my opinion.but the top 3 all went through to the british as it was so close.

Hi Gaz,
Thanks for your kind words mate. That was a last minute decision and my aim was only to qualify - which I did, but it would have been nice to place higher. Anyhow im comin down to the light heavies where I intend to battle it out all the way mate....

Congrats on your qualification my friend. A wise decision IMO coming into the LH. How much more you gotta lose big boy? I have been at 88-89kg for about 4 weeks now. Dropped my carbs to 320g and upped my cardio to 1 hour and still 89kgs this morning....Damn that pesky friday night chinese meal!!
By all accounts you should have got second but then again I wasn't there so cant really comment. Its a wise man that comes in less than 100% to the qualifier and then brings the whole shooting match to the finals.Well done again, top notch stuff.

Hi James,
I weighed in at 97.75 kilos, but i did have tracksuit bottoms and a top on, and I has also eaten a meal a few hours prior to the weigh in, so my true bodyweight was lighter than that. I have around 8-10 lbs to drop, but uits a case of how i look in the mirror that will determine the exact amount.
As for urself 89kgs is exactly where u want and need to be right now, u have ur bodyfat where u want it, the extra weight compared to last year is in lean muscle, and making a weight class is all about being at the top end - especially at your height - u will be one of the most heavily muscled guys on stage!
Keep it it up J
Stay strong my friend

Thanks Bozatron - but the standard of the brits this year will be one of the best yet, it is gonna be one hell of a class, I will do my best then the rest is in the judges hands...

Hey great pics PJ. You'll be shredded at u90kgs for sure!!
Had you in second tho mate, no contest.
Anyway its qualification that matters and you done that well sir
I have you top 3 at the British this year. Have faith in your physique mate. Of all the competitors competing this year in our class I think you are the one that could really upset the applecart and I really do genuinely mean that.
Great physique with no real apparant weaknesses...Quality

Hes on the right hand side Kez.
Where is Pats condition??? And why are you 3rd PJ?? Strrrange judging my friend.
I wont go on a Lee Priest judging rage but it certainly is way off the mark! :-/
At that weight, 97kg (including your bling, cast iron boots etc) you look very well indeed.
You just need a good wring out to come in nice and crisp for the British Finals ;)

How did you come third in that line up?
I have judged a number of shows in my time, and looking at the pics third was a bad result for you, I can't see anyone better than you in the line up !!! You should have been first!
Just my considered opinion.

will do PJ, don't think he's doing the finals as he's eating anything and everything at the moment ;D, think he's retiring while he's a winner. mind you all it ususally takes to get him competing again is watching a competition, ;)
By the way mate I agree with everyone else you should have been placed first you look from the pictures to have more muscle density, symmetry etc than the others

James,
Its motivating to hear positive words - especially coming from a british champion! I never take nothin for granted - so im not thinking about placings, rather about being the best I can be. It has been said many times before that its easy to look great in the gym the week before - but its bringing it to the stage that really counts. Ask anyone who knows me I am the master of looking great the week before - then shite onstage - part of that is that im never afraid to try new things, secondly Im still learning about my body - I have only done 6 shows so far - leeds being the 6th. This time round I feel I will be much closer to bringing the winning formula that works for me. The brits is just around the corner, yet as you know at this stage the days can seem like months - its a testing time, but thats why ther can be only one champion. So good luck to everyone competing, I hope the classes are judged fairly and honestly - and may the best man win - C'mon lets be sporting about it!
Once again thanks again James for your comments.
Paul,
I kno exactly where I need to be and how i need to look come the brits - and I am working hard at getting there. Win, lose or draw I will bring my best package and conditioning yet! Ill see you there mate - and thanks for all ur help man.
Reaper,
All I heard from people at the show was about my placing - it is nice to hear, some had me second, some had me first - and no doubt some had me third as did the judges. I got my qualification - and at around 15 stones showed that I could stand with guys at 18 stone plus - Pat got third in the heavies last year and Dave who won got 5th - so regardless of my placing it was a confidence booster. Again thanks for your comments, they are appreciated ;-)
Wingy,
Tell Ian to get his a** down to sheffeild - when hes ready! For some hardcore workouts - the guy needs to be a LHW not a middle - so lets beef it up!

Ian confirmed to me he aint doing the finals, he found it sooo hard this year and he feared he would lose his job because his diet was getting to him and couldnt give a toss. Ian is sensible and has a family to look after, im glad he has his priorities in check.
Well done Ian and well done to Young Dan Pearce, hes doing the finals now after bending his ear! ;D
