Sorry, for flooding the forum with questions!

My split:

Monday - Chest
Wednesday - Biceps/Triceps
Friday - Shoulders/Back

Is this going to cause a problem, as my biceps are still aching lots from wednesdays workout and i have to do my back and shoulders today, so they will get a fair bit of use.

I know biceps and back are usually put together, but i found that shoulders were used alot for some back exercises too so i split it that way..

Oh one last question, is it ok to train abs more than once a week? Thanks

Ross

train your biceps with your chest mate, next day off, triceps with back.next day off. legs and shoulders together, next day off. train your abs 3 times a week should be ok if you dont over do it  ;D

This will give all your muscle groups time to recover and grow

I disagree, train Biceps with back, as they are already warmed up, a relatively small muscle and therefore prone to being overworked if you are hitting them too often.

Triceps I would do with Chest and shoulders. I always keep push and pull workouts seperate.

Alternatively do arms on there own before your leg day, gives em a rest before doing upper body.

Thats my take on it.

The trick here is working out if you have muscle soreness or muscle pain. As long as this is muscle soreness from training then you are good to go again. You have had a days rest so no worries. If it becomes a real problem over the next few weeks/months switch your wednesday and monday routines thus moving back and biceps further apart.

Thanks for all your replies.

I'm pretty sure that it's classic muscle soreness as it was slightly tender the day after and a little worse today, although since this morning the soreness has decreased a fair bit. I've ordered some creatine (cellmass), so hopefully i should recover a bit faster in future?

doode check out my work out in my pictures its the thread i started. its ideal for this problem because it gives your arms 2whole days rest. your arms are used in almost evey upper body movement there for need more rest than other groups. also there used alot in every day use. its also handy if you wanna hit the pubs and clubs displaying good guns over the w/e coz there pumped and full. lol ;D sad aint i? dont tell me you dont all do it!

i'm not happy to see you dont train your legs buddy. BIG mistake in my eyes, HUGE! start training those legs and your core and upper body will also grow.

as for soreness. be glad of it, it mean's you have done enough damage in the gym to potentionaly build mass just as long as you eat well and sleep better. if its really bad pain and you havnt been training very long it could be your going to intence to soon. this will cause you to hit a wall sonner than hoped. your muscles can only repair a cirtan amount at a time. its silly going in the gym and destroying them in the early days. you need to build things up slowly but surely. progressive resisstance training. get the foundations in place before you build your house. its important you dont only build the muscle but also build the conective tissue.
