Most people say that diet is the most important issue when Bodybuilding.... True or False?

If True how come this receipe section is hardly written on???

Come on guys, spill the beans here...!

Im fed up of plain old chicken breasts and I've eaten so much tuna the smells driving me crazy...!

If each bodybuilder write down his favourite meal each week, this will become a good read.... And I dont mean the cheat meal - cheeseburgers & fries...! ;-)

I like to keep it simple most of the time, chicken and rice, chicken and baked potato, salmon and rice, tuna with salad cream in pitta

If it is a hot meal I add green veg, maybe broccoli. If it is a cold meal like chicken breast and brown rice, I chop up the chicken with the rice then add in two big spoons of tomato salsa and mix:)

If I can't get rice or potato, then my favorite at the moment is to go for a bagel as my carb with one sliced chicken breast and peanut butter mmmmmmmmm

I do like a good beef burger though, but if you do it right and make it yourself its a good healthy meal :)

Diet is 50% of the equation IMO, as is training. If you follow a bodybuilding diet and dont workout - you wont build any muscle, conversly if you follow a bodybuilding training plan and dont eat enough of the right foods - again you will see little physique improvement.

As for the foods, im sure you know all the right bodybuilding foods - the key is in the seasoning of your food - make it taste nice without adding extra saturated fats etc. Everybodys tastes are different - so its about what flavours suit you.

andy if you were to look back over the oldest posts on here you would see loads of posts from me (deano) moaning like a b**** about how sick of tuna i was but now i eat the stuff with no problem. receipes is a good idea though.

at the mo i'm dicing 6 breasts cooking up in wok, cooking up a packet of wholewheat pasta adding the two in a huge sauce pan with a jar of homepride tomoto and bacon pasta stir. lovely dose me a few days lunch as nice cold as hot!

Steak is good, I eat around 300-400 grams serbings 3 times a week. Wholewheat pasta is ok, try adding some green veg to the mix also.

Recipes !! I know the eating can be boring, I know it isn't easy. But the best rule of thumb is "if its fresh its ok"
Fresh meat, fish, veg, fruit etc. Spices have hardly any calorific value, experiment, as PJ says we all have differing tastes and you need to use what stimulates your palate !
I am not a chef, nor are most of the guys on here, so for recipes best you type in "bodybuilding recipes" in to google, I just did and there are HUNDREDS to choose from.  Happy cooking !
Problem solved !

If i eat a cake i feel shite or..less motivated in the gym

but each to there own isnt it mate. for example if you happy with maintaining how u are going off your diet a few times wont matter and u still will make gains..

if you wana get ripped like PJ in a comp then diet will have to be spot on. all each to our own..i know some bastards who can eat what they like and NEVER put weight on and still keep a semi six pack..grrr..

where me i could easily gain a few pounds a week going off my diet.. annoying as hell

I can stick to a clean eating all week, it always falls down at the weekend when im home with the kids.
The whole week is a regime that i just dont seem to be able to find to stick to the wkend.

I look at the wrong foods and put weight on. !!!

Nothing wrong with a bit of indulgance at the weekend   ;D it stops the clean eating becoming boring and you can always use it as motivation to workout during the week. I know several competetive bodybuilders who have the odd pizza or curry on the weekend while dieting for a competition.
