Hi all,
I have been bodybuilding for about 3 years now, and thought I would take a look at what is involved in competing. Could someone please tell me what categories (weight, height etc) are available in the UK BBing circuit please?
Thanks
Ed

I did look there Jon, and it told me that there were 4 weight classes for men, however I can't find what these weight classes actually are?
Though I notice they have a "first timers" class, which might be appropriate.

UKBFF weight classes for men are as follows:
Light weights - up to 70kg
Middle weights - up to 80kg
Light heavy weights - up to 90kg
Heavy weights - over 90kg

Thanks guys. I've done some research and would be interested in the BNBF and NPA bodies as I am natural (for now at least). I've found out these classes are under 70kg, under 80kgs, and over 80kgs. There is also a novice class. How does this work? Is there no weight restriction in Novice? I currently am a novice so it makes sense to start here I guess?

Hi guys, i'm new to the scene and have been doing some research on competing. I read on the above link that the athletes are drug tested before shows etc.....how do they get away with this? at the risk of sounding stupid, aren't most (if not all) of them on gear?

There are some contests where you are not tested, and some where you are. Obviously if you are natural you compete in the tested contests, otherwise you compete in the untested contests.
There are more untested contents than tested, as far as I have learnt so far.

The natural shows are not run strictly - only a handfull of competitors are tested - and many do use gear....

The class winners are tested, AFAIK.
So you can't win a class without being tested.
