hi
i was told by a tranier/nutritionist is that any suplemnets (protien shakes) is just a money making thing and should be avoided cuz there is no scientific eveidence 2 support it. my goal is to build strength and not put on mass (become strong) so i was told by that u shouldnt take a protien PWO because u want ur muscle 2 recover them selfs and not make protien do the job cuz this doesnt build strength, so therefore im not taking anything at all? also i was told that 1.5g of protien for bodyweight is too much it should be about 60g a day cuz having too much ul just piss it out because u get protien from other foods like potatoes bread etc (has protien in there), also told that u can have carbs in the evening and it does not hamke u fat,
can u plz explain with scientific evidenece plz
also how do i lose my stomach the tranier/nutritionist said that is cuz the rest of ur body is not big (sholders, arms, chest, back and leg) so because of this u are going 2 think u got a stomach when these parts get bigger (muscallly) it will strech ur stomach and ur stomach will srink, i am asking this cuz i want a flat stomach
also is green tea any good and isd there scientific evidence 2 prove ehat it does? Is it any good for what? Have a look on google - im sure you could find some info - sorry to say that we here are not experst on green tea!
can u please post ur comments
cheers jet li

Wow.. can i have his number please so i can bash him over the head?
He is a numbty..
First off.. what protein is in bread and potatoes?
Protein is used to repair and build muscle.. using common sense..why would taking no protein make you stronger? it would clearly make you the opposite with your muscles having nothing (no fuel) to build off.
Protein shakes are made because there easy and quick.. sure you can have chicken/turkey but a protein shake can be made in 10 seconds and drank in the next 10 seconds.
And because its liquid it will get into the system quicker.
So no its not a waste of money..what is a waste of money is some brands claim to do stuff they dont do. But thats like in eveything from a football foot to clothing.. company's will always do that.. misleading marketing..
To get a flat stomach? well..stomach is always the last bodypart to lose fat.. so it takes TIME.. weights/cardio/diet.. given enogh time you will have your goals..

Protein shake is good for a pre/post workout.
Lifting weights you will always gain muscle. But with a clean diet you will gain lean mass. so its all lean muscle..
To make sure you still at a good lean size..do plenty of cardio after your workouts..

Do people believe everything they ar told!!?? First off if you want scientific evidence in order to accept someones advice - ask your trainer for his!
No one in the world can tell you how much of what nutrients your body is using for what - thats a scientific fact. Hence for example protein intake of say 1.5 grams is a guideline based on research - its not the definitive absolute value that you should consume.
If you think 60 grams of protein per day is suffiecient - eat only 60 grams pre day consistently for 4 weeks and see how you feel and look! 60 grams of protein provies only 240 calories - the government reccomend the average male (non sports person) should consume around 2500 calories per day. So where are the rest of your caloires going to come from?
Be sensible with the amounts of foods you intend to consume, be consistent, document everything - then from trial and error you can see what works best for you.
Yes there are small amount of proteins in vegetables and pother foods - but these are known as second class proteins as they do not contain all 8 essential amini acids. Therfeore base your protein sources for each meal around a first class protein that does contain all 8 essential amino acids.
Jus sit back and use your brain for once and think about waht advice you have been given.
PERIOD.

Dear Mr Jet Li,
Scientific evidence can be, and frequently is, manipulated to suit the cause. If you are selling
protein for example, it will be the best, the easiest absorbed, the one to have. But the guy
selling his product on the next stall to you is claiming even better results....etc etc. The only
way you will know what works for you is try it. Protein supplements, providing you buy a good
quality one, DO work. Protein begets protein, and what is your muscle made of......! If you
don't know then google it !! You've been told, more than once, but you DO NOT listen. Read a few of the other related threads before wasting peoples time. Take the time to read existing
posts, because just about everything you have asked has already been answered.
